*Minor sharpening means edges in good condition with no chips.
*Major sharpening includes very dull or dirty knives, knives with small chips or broken points, and larger scissors and shears. Major shear work includes repairs of nicks, set problems and improper previous adjustment or sharpening, and replacement of parts (e.g. bumpers, washers, screws, finger rests). Major work on dental and surgical instruments includes repairs of nicks and other damage, reshaping of tips, correction of improper previous sharpening. Because of the time involved, hand sharpening and serrated knife sharpening are considered major. Hand Knife Sharpening with Wicked Edge or Edge Pro available; ask about prices!
Repair Prices: An additional charge of $2.00 – $5.00 may apply on knives, dental instruments, surgical instruments, and scissors with severely chipped edges, nicks and other damage, broken tips, or knives that have worn out of shape. We can reduce the bolster and restore or reshape the blade if your kitchen knife does not chop all along its full-length. Repair work is done in our shop, usually within 2 business days, then picked up or delivered to you. We do not repair knife handles. We reserve the right to refuse work for any reason.
All sharpened items will be returned with protective sheaths and/or wrapping.
Clipper Blade Sharpening includes: Pull evaluation, inspection, disassembly, cleaning, sharpening, replacement of parts as needed (repair), adjustment as needed, reassembly and testing on a working clipper. Clipper repair includes evaluation, cleaning, replacement of blade drive, hinge assembly, and/or blade lock as needed.
WARRANTY: All sharpening is warranted for one week from the date of sharpening. If you are not satisfied for any reason, bring the item back within one week of the date of delivery and we will resharpen it at no charge.
