Flower Trials at Welby Gardens

Every year, Welby Gardens, the growers of Hardy Boy plants, hosts retailers, industry professionals, and researchers from across the state to evaluate new and improved varieties of flowers from breeders around the world.
We are fortunate to be invited to participate and see the hundreds of trial plants grown and vote on the best based on our perspective. We look at things like growth habit, how it would look in our customers' gardens, how it would perform in our climate, and, simply, if we love it. Once they tally the hundreds of votes, they bring the winners into their inventory for garden centers and landscaping companies to purchase.
Once their flower trials are complete, we get to hold our own flower trials for customers to vote! We bring in a contingent of the same flowers and ask you which you like best. We then relay those winners to Welby's and they will consider adding those to inventory as well.
