Do you love farmer’s markets? Did you know that Spencer’s was one of the first farmer’s markets in Colorado Springs? That’s how far back our love for them goes. We are excited for produce season to start and it is hard to be patient! Since our growing season is limited, we have to wait until late June and July for even the first of the Colorado produce to come in.
Cherries arrive in June, marking the beginning of the season. Look for the 4th of July as the average start date for apricots, early peaches, beets, broccoli, celery, peas, green beans, and potatoes, along with early tomatoes, corn, and cucumbers. August brings the best of the harvest, with apples, melons, chiles, bushels of peaches and other canning produce.
Our produce is available daily at the Tejon location and on weekends in limited quantities at our Fountain location. Check our website for up-to-date stock and expected arrival times, or call us at 719-632-2788 for the most current availability. Please keep in mind that all seasonal produce harvests are subject to weather- late freezes, cool or hot temperatures, severe weather, and more impact arrival dates. We are as excited as you for the freshest, most delicious Colorado produce!
